On Tuesday, February 5th at 3 pm, a sunny 60 degree afternoon, an enthusiastic group of CCD students, CYO basketballl players and dedicated parishioners met to pack the van from Scott's Corner's The Market at Pound Ridge Square and a bunch of cars with a total of
431 bags of groceries weighing an estimated
5,172 pounds. That's more than 2 tons of food! We delivered the bags to the Community Center where we learned that this was the largest single day food donation in their almost 30 years of existence. It was also St. Patrick's most significant food drive since its founding in 1928! At least it was the most successful food drive that the group could remember. The Community Center staff was so grateful and overwhelmed by our generosity. Thank you to everyone for making this effort such an enormous success!!!
As Jesus said, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink... Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
